First Magazine

First is a literary magazine written by high school students in the summer of 2007 during Lit Mag Boot Camp at 826NYC. Twelve students from around New York City came together to pitch their ideas, participate in editorial meetings, and write and re-write their stories with professional journalists and novelists. The end result was First: a series of articles, interviews, and stories, each with their own singular perspective, collected here in a magazine that is truly the first and last of its kind.

Proceeds from the sale of this book benefit 826NYC, a nonprofit organization encouraging the exploration of endless possibilities through the power of writing.
